SQL Join

As the name itself says it is used to join. In SQL, JOIN means to “combine two or more tables.”

ANSI Standard SQL defines five types of JOIN. They are:

  • INNER JOIN
  • LEFT JOIN
  • RIGHT JOIN
  • FULL JOIN
  • CROSS JOIN

Why is SQL JOIN used?

SQL JOIN is used to combine two or more table data records.

It is used when you want to access more than one table through the select statement.

The combining of two tables is based on the common column field between them.

SQL INNER JOIN is the most common type of JOIN and it is the default JOIN.
